The Tutoring Center, Greenville SC

Tutor helping struggling child with math and science

My name is Morgan Stone and my passion and drive comes from helping children succeed. As the Owner and Center Director for The Tutoring Center, Greenville SC, my mission is to help every child in our community achieve their very highest potential not only in their academics but also as confident and respectful individuals. I was born and raised in Marietta, GA and attended Clemson University, receiving a B.A. in Communication Studies while minoring in Business Administration. After graduating from Clemson, I learned the ins and outs of the corporate world through my experience working with Wells Fargo, while continually searching for an outlet to make the biggest difference in the lives of children and families. This search led me to The Tutoring Center.

Children Struggling in School Need Extra Help

Now-a-days, children are subject to an extremely demanding and competitive educational environment, which can be extremely difficult; our community needs resources to help when a child is struggling or looking to enrich their educational experience. The Tutoring Center has a proven track record of doing exactly that, providing effective resources for students at all stages with individualized one-on-one support. To develop the academic skills of every student, we use the only research based educational program in the industry, 'The Rotational Approach To Learning.' This approach helps improve concentration and most importantly focuses on the character development of our students, providing them with enhanced self esteem, confidence, and a safe place where they can experience positive results and feedback in their life. I seek to enhance the educational experience of our local children and raise up another level of high quality students to achieve things their parents may not have been able to achieve.

By showing children what they are capable of, we can literally change the course and direction of their lives and provide our community with better citizens. Some of my other favorite ways to serve the community include: volunteering as a Small Group Leader at KidSpring, leading and mentoring high school girls, co-founding ‘Clemson All In To Give,’ volunteering at The Golden Corner Food Pantry, and serving as a member at the Greenville Chamber of Commerce.

Avery Burdette, Head Instructor at The Tutoring Center, graduated from Mars Hill University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Pre-Medical Studies. Born and raised in Southwest Florida, Avery has always loved math and science. After six years serving in children’s ministry, she’s developed a strong passion for helping children. She believes that building relationships with children creates a solid foundation to help them grow and succeed.

Our classrooms feature an intense learning environment that combines “The Rotational Approach to Learning” and One-To-One Instruction. Both methods were developed by Edward S.Thalheimer, Ph.D., founder of THE TUTORING CENTER. Our innovative system gives your child far more One-to-One Instruction than he or she will ever receive in a classroom full of children, or even in a small group.

You have many choices available for your child, and we want you to make the choice that's in your child's best interest. For instance, many schools provide after-school tutoring or intervention programs for students who are having difficulty in school, and maybe your child has been offered one in the past. Even though these programs are free to families, current research indicates that these programs are inefficient and time-consuming. Since they focus mostly on completing your child's homework, they can not offer you a permanent solution. While school-based tutoring may provide your child with short-term homework help, THE TUTORING CENTER's intense One-to-One Instruction and "The Rotational Approach to Learning™" actually provide your child with long-term skills that will last a lifetime.
